The ‘Area Churches Together’ held a FUNDAY at PENTECOST or WHIT SUNDAY, hence its name. We had glorious weather on the Sunday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A local school field was used for a wide range of activities and worship. Activities included were Juggling, Circus skills, Skittles, Dads & Lads football, Story-telling, Croquet, Face-painting, Kite making, Hama Beads, Card crafts, knitting for Kenya. There was also a display of Dancing and Cheer Leading and a Gospel Magician; with a Worship area, a Prayer Corner and the inevitable Refreshments - tea, coffee and quashes with food for a picnic tea at 4.15 p.m. Background music was provided by the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Silver Band, Sammy Milsom’s Band. An outdoors service was held at 5.15 p.m. with keyboard, guitars and drums leading the singing.
A large number of folk turned up
to experience the occasion and a good time was had by all. Here are a few pictures
to give a flavour of the scene of what can happen in God’s name when many
people of different denominations get together.
