Annually in June members raise money for NCH on the 9 mile sponsored walk. This year's, on Saturday 8th June, took place around Midsomer Norton, Radstock, Clapton and Chilcompton on a glorious sunny day with a bit of breeze, so not to hot to walk. We normally do a figure of eight to accommodate those unable to do the full distance. This year, 14 of us started from the Centre, for a 4 mile circuit along old railway routes, (the area used to have two rail routes running through it), back to the centre for an excellent ploughman's lunch. Suitably refreshed, 7 of us resumed the walk for another 5 miles through local villages. A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all in excellent company and at the end of it all for a good cause. Thanks to the organisers Carol and Marilyn for their hard work - which must continue now as they collect and count the money from the walkers and their various sponsors. A GRAND TOTAL of £745 is expected when all has been collected.
